The Hoggatt Lab was looking for a unique way to showcase his research idea, so what better way than with cartoons! We started by recording Jon reciting his pre-written scripts with our audio equipment. We then took those audio files and created story boards for each topic. The main goal was to simply depict each research topic so you didn’t have to be a scientist to understand the ideas. After we revised the story boards with Jon we got to creating the characters, backdrops, and props to make base for our stories. After Sussan created all the artwork, we animated each piece frame by frame to create a motion video. After the animation was complete, we added folly and sound design to accompany the visual movements, added titles, and uploaded the finalized videos to The Hoggatt Labs vimeo account & embedded them in www.hoggattlab.com for all his visitors to see and use as a learning tool.
